In 2013, I moved to San Diego to become a founding teacher of High Tech Elementary North County in San Marcos. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this progressive, dynamic High Tech High world, full of dedicated and thoughtful educators. My educational journey began at Bank Street College of Education in New York City, where I developed my educational philosophy based on the whole child. I began teaching in New York City, and have taught in Brooklyn, Portland (OR), and Ethiopia, before moving to Encinitas. I believe that educators must foster close relationships among the school, home and community that focus on all areas of each child’s development. Our nation needs strong schools to educate our future citizens and develop life-long learners. I strive to engage all learners at their level of development through authentic and meaningful tasks that promote communication, collaboration, critical thinking, risk-taking and creativity. When not at school, I love to spend my free time with my family at the beach, crashing into waves and digging in the sand. Being outside and exploring our world!
¡Estar afuera y explorar nuestro mundo!
